National Council

The NHS and NJHS National Council is an 11-member council comprised of advisers, principals, and assistant principals. The purpose of the National Council is to supervise the activities of the Honor Societies. In this capacity, the council advises the NASSP Board of Directors and national staff on matters related to the Honor Societies, assists in promoting the purposes of the national organizations, and serves as the Scholarship Board to select the winners of the NHS National Scholarship each year.

Members of the National Council each represent one of the eight regions of the United States. In addition, one NJHS adviser is appointed to represent middle level chapters, and two principals at-large are also appointed.
