State NHS & NJHS Associations

Honor Society activity takes place at the local, state, and national level. The following states offer either a state association for advisers and students, or sponsor annual meetings for advisers and/or students. The national office is pleased to provide this list as a service to chapters found in these states. Chapters from states without their own associations or meetings are encouraged to contact the national office for information regarding forming a new state association.

Please note: State associations operate independently of the national association, are not involved in selection or dismissal of individual chapter members at the school level, and generally do not influence the processes used for these purposes at the local chapter level. Chapter concerns fall under the domain of the local chapter adviser and school principal. Individuals seeking input on national policy or procedure for NHS or NJHS can contact the national office at nhs@nhs.us for assistance.

Note: In the list below, reference to Regions is included for each state and refers to the NASSP administrative regions in which this state is located.
