NHS Scholarship Narrative Question

Many chapters choose their nominees for the NHS Scholarship based on the students’ responses to the essay question. We have provided the question here for use in determining the nominees for your chapter. Essays should be 300 words or less.

According to Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, after our physiological needs are met (i.e., food, water, shelter, etc.), people identify safety and security needs as a priority. What do you see as a significant threat to individual safety and security in today’s society and what can students do to alleviate such problems?
