Idea Sharing
The national office hears from hundreds of schools and student leaders each year about the great projects they're doing. Here is a sampling of some of the best ideas.
Students can make a difference in the world. Every year, thousands if not millions of American teenagers engage in meaningful service projects in their schools and communities. While there are many who might belittle the roles that students take, the evidence is clear - students today care enough to give of their time and their resources to improve the world around them. The proof is not difficult to find.
NASSP, parent organization for NHS and NJHS, regularly monitors the national media for articles regarding Honor Society chapters. In 2007-08, we reviewed hundreds of stories outlining the extraordinary efforts being undertaken by chapters to meet the service needs of their schools and communities. We've pulled a sampling of those stories to share as a way of imparting some of the good news about students and education that often gets overlooked in the front page headlines.
