NASSP has awarded the NHS Scholarships since 1946, providing more than $10 million in scholarships to outstanding NHS members. Now in its 62nd year, the program provides $200,000 annually in scholarship awards.

Video: Eastview High School NHS Watch this four-minute video created by the NHS chapter at Eastview High School in Apple Valley, MN. The video premiered at the school's 2010 induction ceremony and conveys many positive messages about the value of NHS and the work of chapter members at school and in the community. It's one of the best chapter video we've seen so far. Great work!

2010 NHS Scholarship Winners Announced NHS is proud to announce the 2010 winners of the National Honor Society Scholarships. Every state in the U.S. plus Puerto Rico and our foreign chapters had at least two scholarship winners. Larger, more populated states received from two to seven scholarship awards. These students, all members of the Class of 2010, were chosen from among more than 6,000 nominees.

No Name-Calling Week: Jan. 24-28 NHS and NJHS are a proud supporters of No Name-Calling Week, a week of educational and art activities aimed at stopping name-calling and bullying in schools. Students are encouraged to participate in the Creative Expression Contest by submitting essays, poetry, music, original artwork, or other pieces that convey their experiences and feelings about name-calling, and their ideas for putting an end to verbal bullying in their schools and communities.

NHS Scholarship Deadline Extended The deadline to submit nominations for the 2011 NHS Scholarship program has been extended to January 28, 2011. Please visit www.nhs.us/NHSScholarship to review program information and print nomination instructions for your candidates. Deadline Extended for the White House Commencement Challenge The White House has extended the deadline to submit applications for its Race to the Top High School Commencement Challenge, a contest where high schools across the country compete to have President Obama speak at their graduation. In addition, the application has been streamlined, requiring three short essays and school data that, in most cases, should be readily available. All applications must be submitted by Friday, March 11.
