Home / NHS ScholarshipThe National Honor Society Scholarship program is a nomination process. Students cannot apply. Nomination forms cannot be sent to students or parents but must be obtained through the high school NHS Chapter Adviser. If you are a high school senior, a member in good standing of your school's National Honor Society chapter, and wish to be considered for nomination, contact your local high school NHS Chapter Adviser.
Who is Eligible?
Only currently affiliated NHS Chapters may participate. Members [students] who are seniors in good standing are eligible to be nominated by their chapters to compete in the NHS Scholarship Program." The phrase, "seniors in good standing" is generally taken to mean 12th graders who are continuing to meet the standards by which they were selected and who are up-to-date on their chapter obligations.
How many students can be nominated per chapter?
Chapters may now nominate from two to five seniors from their chapter to compete. The number of nominees per chapter is based on graduating class size. Small schools (1-100) may nominate two seniors; medium schools (101-250) may nominate three seniors; large schools (251-400) may nominate four seniors; and very large schools (401+) may nominate five seniors.
Where do I find the scholarship materials?
All information, criteria and materials can be found in the Adviser Zone. Advisers must log in using their I.D. number and password. Once in the Adviser Zone, click on National Honor Society Scholarship. Scholarship packets will no longer be mailed to NHS chapter advisers.
