Adopt-a-Highway Clean-up

For the past three years Hanalani Schools which is located in Mililani has been participating in the Adopt-a-highway program. Adopt-a-Highway is a public service program under the Department of Transportation for volunteers to pick up litter along Hawaii’s State highways. Recently our school cleaned along our 2 mile highway portion between Mililani and Wahiawa. Food Drive

Support of our local food pantry is a constant service our Student Council undertakes. In November, the Student Council ran its annual Thanksgiving Food Drive for the 14 consecutive year. Food was collected in November for families in need with an emphasis on providing a Thanksgiving meal for them, complete with the turkey, stuffing and all the trimmings. Kindness Week

Our middle school, with over 1800 students, is always looking for a way to encourage kind behavior.  To encourage our staff and student body to engage in kind behavior, we organized a "Kindness Week" in December.  We wore our "Be Kind...like Josh" (Josh Steven's Foundation shirts) one day.  We had students sign a "Kindness Pledge" at lunch and hung it up for the school to see.  We gave out free Kindness Grams that students were able to send to one another and we delivered… Read More »

Neon Night Glow Run. To raise funds to contribute in the upcoming Relay for Life, chapter members sponsored an evening fun run. For $12 a person, participants could run in the untimed fun run (5 and under), do the one-mile walk, have their faces painted with glow paint, run the 2-mile race and participate in the Glow Zumba warmup.

King William High School
King William, VA

Door Decorating for MDA. During March Madness, chapter members decorated teacher doors for their favorite college team, raising more than $800 for MDA.

Carmichaels Area High School
Carmichaels, PA

Hunger Games. Sixteen teams participated in unique games in the school gym; each participant donated food to the community food bank as the price of admission.
