Winter Secret Pals

This project's main goals were to get teachers and students more involved in school activities and to build a relation between the teachers and the students. We have traditionally sponsored secret pals; however, for the past three years our number of faculty participants has drastically declined. The SGA members did not want to quit the project. Welcome Back Bears

Welcome Back Bears is the Mountain View Student Council’s first day of school event. This first day of school is not normal. Instead of going through the normal bell schedule, students of Mountain View have an activity-filled day. This day works by splitting each grade level into different activities throughout the day. Tag, You're IT!

In an effort to encourage quality character on our campus, the local Hearne High School chapter of the National Honor Society began a program of "Tag, You're IT!" All high school staff and NHS members were asked to submit nominations for this designation. When a student was observed exhibiting role-model behavior, they became a nominee whose name was presented to our chapter executive committee (NHS officers). Operation Gratitude. Using guidance from the national Operation Gratitude website, NHS members from Epic Charter School in Oklahoma City, OK, took a day to write nearly 60 letters to military personnel serving overseas.

Community Welcome Buckets. The chapter at Milton Area High School, in Milton, PA, helped welcome new residents to their community by distributing buckets with welcome gifts. The project aimed to ensure support for schools from the whole community. They were also featured in the local paper!
