Marian Central’s NHS Chapter created a mock accident scene utilizing live actors, two wrecked vehicles, and a realistic EMS response. NHS members planned this event in response to several fatal accidents throughout their school’s history. By partnering with the local police and fire departments and Allstate’s Keep the Drive, they produced a community event aimed at educating teenagers about the consequences of car accidents. The chapter hosted the event for the entire student body on the football field of their high school during Homecoming Week. They were successful in generating awareness for the prevention of distracted and intoxicated driving.
