“We are looking for suggestions on developing an essay question for the candidate form. We would like to have the students reflect on the four pillars in some way. Any ideas?”

“We have had the same ceremony for induction for several years. The kids light candles and talk about the pillars for NJHS. Does anyone have other ideas of how they do their induction ceremony?”

Join these conversations going on right now in the Adviser Online Community. Log in here with the same credentials you use for the NHS or NJHS websites.

Officer Elections
Many chapters hold officer elections during the spring semester, and the national office often receives questions about the best way to conduct elections. Article XI of the NHS and NJHS Constitutions states that chapter members determine the method of officer elections and that process should be outlined in your chapter bylaws. Michelle Cureton, an NHS adviser from Michigan, has provided a form that members of her chapter use to declare their intent to run for office. This Intent-to-Run Form is customizable for your own chapter. Find it in the Adviser Resource Center in the “Working with Members and Student Officers” section.
